This is a textural painting using thick oil paint mixed with sand.. In the photo the texture is casting a bit of shadow where the paint is thick which makes the painting look darker in places that it does in real life.

This watercolour is done with Japanese brushes on white paper, the image looks grey but the paper is white and the colours brighter. Not sure how to photograph white paper without getting a blue tinge. The watercolour is mounted in a cream mount as I had one that fitted. I will attempt to take a better photograph. This is a really delicate but fun painting.

The blue light of Scotland tends to dull down the colours in a photograph. The yellows and golds are much brighter than it looks in the image which has a blue tinge to it.

The colours are brighter and more orange in reality than showing in the photograph. I will aim to take another photo later and see if I can get truer colours.
Discovered a little family of meerkats living just down the road from me, looking forward to taking my camera and sketch book down and and getting to know them. There is a three week old baby, unbelievably cute.
