This is a textural painting using thick oil paint mixed with sand.. In the photo the texture is casting a bit of shadow where the paint is thick which makes the painting look darker in places that it does in real life.
By the way, thank you so much to everyone who has put comments up so far, I really appreciate it..and of course thank you to everyone who has bought paintings too. I am delighted and amazed at the support.
